Emily is a dog trainer who lives on a small horse farm in northeast Ohio; the same family property where her father and his English Shepherd, Queenie, roamed in the 1950’s. In 1996 the family brought Rex home, he would go on to touch the lives of family members and friends alike for 10 years. In 2007, Tess (a great niece to Rex) came to live on the farm. For the next 12 years, Tess and Emily were inseparable. A constant companion, whether it was on the beaches of Lake Erie or socializing with friends on a patio, Tess was her Shadow Shepherd. When Tess passed away in 2019, she and her husband found a great niece, Princess Ridley. Today, Emily is passionate about sharing English Shepherds with others so they too can experience life with a Shadow Shepherd.

Marley runs a small vegetable farm in NH with her husband. After several years struggling with precocious wildlife she went looking for a trustworthy, sensible dog to keep critters away from crops and out of greenhouses. Some timely advice in a FEDCO growers catalogue tipped her off to ‘farm collies’ as an excellent deer deterrent. She got her first English Shepherd, Rue, in 2017 and was immediately enamored with the little dog’s intellect. In 2019 she brought home her second shepherd, Mango, who embodies all the warmth and devotion of a true heart dog. As a young farmer Marley feels a sense of responsibility to be sure farmers and companion homes alike will have access to healthy, mentally sound English Shepherds far into the future.
